Alignment yoga

Alignment Yoga focuses on restoring the natural alignment of the body. Optimal alignment means that the body moves freely without tension. To do so, we need to find the body’s neutral. Taking neutral as the starting point, Alignment Yoga aims at resolving physical tension through movement with the aid of various tools.

All your movements are related and connect different parts of the body through ‘movement chains’. Physical tension, such as stiff shoulders, neck- or back pain, limits free transfer of movement through the body. This could eventually cause complaints. Alignment Yoga recognizes and explains various movement chains and works with corrective exercise and specific stretching to restore free movement.

With Alignment Yoga you’ll learn how to move safely through any asana practice, independent of your favorite yoga style.
